Since a young age, having been raised in a multi-lingual environment, I have always been passionate about languages. Although French is my first language, I quickly began to develop my understanding of Lingala and English at a very young age.
As a teenager, I began to speak German and developed a really good understanding of the Tetela language, the language spoken in the Sankuru province of DR Congo.

My name is Dr Osoko Fredy Shonda, co-founder of Language Connect by the Shondas – LCS School. I founded this language school along with my wife Deborah Shonda in May 2020.
We were both born and bred in France, originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Deborah and I have been living in the UK since 2016 and 2014 respectively, precisely in the West Midlands.

I am a holder of an MEng, an MSc and a PhD and am currently working full-time as an engineering department manager, in the automotive sector.
I have nearly 15 years’ experience in the industry and have been enjoying it.
Besides, after 7 years’ experience in Accounting in France and in the UK, my wife, Deborah began to work full-time as a self-employed media producer.
She founded Angalia Uzuri Production.
Being a business partnership, we work with a team of freelance teachers who assist with the delivery of courses.
We believe that language skills are as important as teaching skills. Thus, most of our freelance teachers are qualified primary and secondary school teachers. They are also bilingual English and French.
Moreover, we also work with teachers of African languages who have got total command of the language.
They are elders who had the opportunity to develop both their speaking and writing skills. Thus, they can teach the literal variant of the language with its grammatical structure.
